Even nonbelievers can be ethically upright.
If you don’t believe in God, how can you be ethically right? Well, this is a complex question. Some say that Godmade the ethical laws or the moral values and you must believe in him in order to be ethically right. That is wrong. If you don’t believe in God you can have the right moral values.
Yes, God tell uswhat is wrong and what is right, and if you’re a believer you will follow the rules like God says.
But, apart of faith, it exists something that can show you what is right and what it’s wrong. That‘something’ is called reason.
Reason is something we all have and it tells us how to live.
Conforming your behavior to God’s commands is not the best God-based approach to ethical guidance.
As itsays, following God 100% to all his rules is not the most ethical way to live.
As I understood, you must do a mix. You can follow Catholicism/Christianity and follow their rules but also you have tolisten to reason, and to not be a blind person against troubles that only follows God rules’.
You will find yourself in some dilemmas but you have to know how to resolve them ethically. It will be easyif you know how to attack the problem in a good way in which you can resolve it ethically and easily, and listening to God’s will.

Holy books require responsible interpretation to function asethical guides.
There’s not much to say about this one. The title says everything. You can misunderstand the holy book so you have to have a responsible interpretation and to analyze as good as you canthe book so you find the right message in it.
Someone who takes the book and reads it, and he isn’t analyzing or well prepared on this subject can misunderstand everything and get the wrong idea.Ethical reason and faith need not conflict with one another.
