RESUMEN


Desde la antigüedad Hipócrates, Esculapio y Maimónides, han escrito sobre la ética médica como un valor universal regidor de la práctica médica, a pesar de ello, los avances científicos han deformado el concepto humanístico de la medicina.
Hoy en día los avances tecnológicos y la globalización handejado atrás el trabajo del médico, transformando a éste en un “obrero calificado” y olvidando que el cuerpo humano también está constituido por una parte emocional, desde está óptica estamos en relación con otra persona que siente, que sufre igual que nosotros y que demanda trato digno y humano.
El problema de la ciencia médica es que no ha incorporado a su teoría el concepto de hombre y poresto las ideas, teorías, hipótesis y demás se dirigen sólo al cuerpo biológico y no al humano.
Desde los albores de la práctica médica se sabe que la responsabilidad del médico va más allá de los intereses monetarios. Dice el Juramento de Maimónides (1135-1204 d.c.): “Que ni la avaricia ni la mezquindad, ni la sed de alta reputación, halaguen en demasía mi mente, porque los enemigos de laverdad y de la justicia podrían entonces engañarme y hacerme olvidar mis propósitos de obrar bien por tus hijos”.
Se hace necesario e indispensable crear conciencia en los futuros médicos, para que visualicen la relación médico-paciente desde la perspectiva de ayudar, considerando que el paciente asiste a buscar alivio a sus males físicos y emocionales esperando ser escuchado, atendido ycurado, buscando en el médico al ser humano sensible que en apariencia tiene la cura en sus manos. Sin duda alguna la medicina es una de las profesiones más difíciles y demandadas, esto quiere decir que no cualquier persona puede ser un médico, se necesita tener aptitudes y actitudes, en conclusión: vocación y alto sentido humanístico.

ABSTRACT


Since ancient times Hippocrates, Esculapio and Maimon had written about ethics in medicine, in spite of this, the scientific advance has forgotten the human side of medicine.
Today’s industry and the globalization have grown up so much that had left behind doctors’ work, becoming just a qualified laboring man, who hasforgotten that a human being has an emotional side, a person who feels and suffers just like we do and deserves a human and dignified treatment.
The problem with medicine schools is that they haven’t made the human being as an integral part of the structure of these studies and that’s why some ideas, hypothesis and more go directly to a biological body not a human.
Since medicinebeginning’s it has been known that the responsibility from the doctor goes beyond the money interests. Maimon’s vow says: “Don´t let neither meanness nor greed, nor good reputation flatter my mentality because the truth and justice enemies could betray me and made me forget my purpose of acting properly with my fellows”.
It’s needed and indispensable to make future doctors notice about theimportance of empathy towards their patients. They must visualize the doctor-patient relationship as a helpful one which is needed to heal the pain taking account that the patient is asking for it, asking to be heard, to be taken care of, to be cured, searching for the sensitive doctor who is supposed to have the cure in his hands.
We must help future doctors understand the importance of empathy...
