RESUMO: Este artigo resulta de análise e reflexões sobre o romance Niebla, (1914), por Miguel de Unamuno – autor espanhol que critica severamente a sociedade, a política e a religião, ao expressar preocupações acerca de tensões dialógicas presentes na sociedade de sua época especialmente àquelas voltadas a questões existenciais.Analisaremos como o autor retrata a vida cotidiana espanhola do final do século XIX e início do século XX, sob as diretrizes de alguns traços característicos das obras do realismo/naturalismo espanhol, em relação ao gênero e período literário na qual a obra se insere. Teceremos reflexões a respeito do tempo, circunstâncias espaciais e voz enunciadora do discurso. Deste modo nos centraremos nas ideologiasdessa sociedade, ainda bastante medievalistas, cujos valores são masculinos e simbolizados na obra pelas ações de Augusto Pérez. Tal fato acaba se refletindo na tomada de decisões e ações executadas pelas personagens femininas desta obra. Refletiremos sobre a construção discursiva das personagens protagonistas femininas e suas relações com os valores que lhes eram impostos. Assim, buscaremosevidenciar como estes aspectos aparecem nas configurações das personagens e os meios utilizados para que sejam revelados pela voz enunciadora do discurso que as constrói e singulariza. Esses dados são de fundamental importância para a compreensão da essência do espírito espanhol, segundo intencionava retratar com objetividade a escrita de Unamuno. Preocupar-nos-emos, ainda, em verificar se a voz destaspersonagens femininas representa um discurso de submissão, de libertação ou se o seu criador lhes nega o direito a tal manifestação e existência. ABSTRACT:This article results from an analysis and reflections on the novel Niebla (Mist) (1914), by Miguel de Unamuno – Spanish author who severely criticizes thesociety, the politics and the religion by expressing his concern on the dialogical tensions present in the society of his time, especially those related to existential issues. We will analyse how the author portrays the Spanish everyday life of the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of the twentieth century, based on some characteristic features of the Spanish Realism/Naturalism’s worksconcerning the genre and the literary period in which the novel was written; we will also present some reflections on the time, space and eunciative voice of the discourse. We will focus the ideologies of that society, which are still of a medieval nature and whose values are predominantly masculine and symbolized in the novel by the actions of Augusto Pérez. performed by the female characters of this novel. We will discuss the discursive construction of the female protagonists and their relations with the values which were imposed to them. Thus, wewill attempt to show how these aspects appear in the characters’ configuration, as well as the means used to reveal such aspects by the enunciative voice of the discourse that builds and singularize the female protagonists.
