Australopithecus:

Physical characteristics:

A male stood about 1.4 meters tall and weighed about 41 kilos; females were about 1.1 meters and 30 kilos. The species had a brain volume of 420cc to500cc. The Australopithecine were very much like Homo sapiens. Most of the time they traveled in groups. They were social, friendly ape-like humans. Their shelter was the nature around them, forexample trees, rocks and cliffs. The Australopithecine created 2 other homo- species that evolved even more.

Cultural characteristics:
Their favorite meal was fruits.
they used to walk on 2 legs butalso were still very good at tree climbing.
there were smart enought (like our chimpanzee or more) to use a rocks or a stick she could find as a tool.

Physicalcharacteristics:

back teeth being larger than the front teeth, large brain, and short with an average male height of 4.5 feet tall. Homo Habilis were not capable of speaking. Brain size is about 1200cc,Cultural characteristics:
Man did not have strong claws to help them fight. Man had to get smart to survive. The Homo habilis man is credited with creating stone tools to help live morecomfortably, and to better protect themselves against the many carnivore (meat eating) animals of the time.
Small groups banded together for protection and efficiency. The size of the group depended upon theamount of food available. Groups would disband and move on, as food required. Since they did not have fire-making skills, they had to wait until they found something burning from natural causes, setaflame, for example, from a lightening strike. A campfire had to be carefully watched, because if the fire went out, they did not know how to start it again. The area around the campfire was probablyused as a sleeping area.
