I am from Bangladesh, and you should not miss these treats when you are in Bangladesh.

1. Ilish (Hilsha):
Probably the tastiest fish in the whole wide world. You can eatit in so many ways that I wrote the name of the fish instead of a particular dish. You can smoke them, fry them, put them in a mustard curry, or infuse their taste with vegetables. Whatever you do,you are on for a heavenly treat. 


This one is prepared with mustard, my personal favorite.

This one is fried, ridiculously tasty!

2. Jhalmuri(ঝালমুড়ি):
This one is simple, puffed rice with anumber of spices (I don't even know the names of all of the spices), onions, garlic, green chilies etc. With a squeeze of lemon, this street food is something you could die for.


3. Chotpoti andFuchka (চটপটি ও ফুচকা):
Undoubtedly the most popular street food in Bangladesh. These are actually two versions of a single dish, mashed chickpeas. In chotpoti, mashed chickpeas are mixed withonions, green chilies, tamarind sauce and then served up in a plate. In fuchka, small deep fried flour pockets are stuffed up with chickpeas and other spices, then are served with a tamarind sauce.

4. Shemai. Jarda and Firni (সেমাই, জর্দা, ফিরনি):
