Preface

Thank you for choosing the SmartFill product series from KIMA. SmartFill is based on approved measurement technology enhanced by the latest mathematical analyse methods. High quality materials and components ensure a longlife time even in challanging environments. This manual will be helpful in assembly, commissioning, parameter setting, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the ‘electronic ear’. To guarantee safe operation of the equipment, read the safety guidelines carefully on page 6 before assembling and connecting power. Please keep the user manual within reach and distribute it to all users for reference.

2.1Basic Operation

SmartFill works on impact sound. The sensors are mounted directly on the mill and measure the vibration from the shell. Noise deriving from other mills, prime movers and power engines do not affect the measurement in any way. In addition, by understanding the vibration from the shell in conjunction with a novel analysis technique, the operator will gain in-depth knowledgeabout the state of the grinding system.
