In the past, people communicated through remote hand-written letters, which took many days to come and in some occasions the letters were lost in thegreat distance. This was for the purpose of communicating with old friends, relatives, business and more. Over time, technology and ingenuity of man has been developed to create extraordinary things,which facilitate the life of man. That is how social networks are created through the internet. This new invention today is part of everyday life. Social networks connect people in question of secondsfrom the comfort of home by just posting a status, a comment on what is known as profiles or walls. Facebook and Twitter are both social networking sites that allow people to communicate and sharepictures and thoughts; however they also have differences in creation, design and functionality such as: profile customization and privacy.
Facebook is the most popular social network on the internetand around the world. It is a program created by Mark Zuckerberg. The intention of this man was to connect the whole university where he studied and to be aware of the facts, gossip and news happeningthere. That led him to the creation of the most famous social network around the world. What started with a very simple program, over time, Zuckerberg´s project was refined.
Facebook is a socialnetwork, which as its name implies, is to stay connected with friends and family via the internet. It is designed not only to talk to other people, but also to share pictures and people´s moods, whichcan be discussed. It is a mechanism to find past friends, or find people with common interests.
