The Effects of Facebook on My Life

Many kids, teenagers, and young adults, spent most of their time of the day in Facebook. Scientists, parents and teachers claim that is because they think theyfeel more connected to other people, or in other words, socializing in our own way, but is this really the only reason they use it?

First of all, teens nowadays use Facebook instead of calling totheir homes or going to knock on their own doors. Why? This is because it’s just simpler and easier. Instead of having to walk all the way to a house, or call home and risking them not being there, youcan simply send them a message, if they are online they’ll answer you right away, if they are not, you can leave them a message. Messages are easier because if they are not online, and they receive amessage, they will receive a notification in their phone if they have one.

Another thing about communicating, is communicating, but with people in other parts of the world. What if you have acousin and you feel like talking to them? Maybe the phone call is too expensive; maybe they changed their phone number and forgot to tell you. You just open the chat and send them a message, and if youfeel like talking to them face to face, you can video chat, it’s not the same, but it’s the closest thing you’ll find apart from traveling all the way too were they live.

Socializing is not very easywhen it comes to teens, people may be shy. So a lot of teens start of by talking to people through chat, kind of relaxing and that makes them know that there is nothing wrong with talking to people,getting to know them. You may chat with people you just met in a party, or a friend if you want to make a surprise party for another friend.

Sometimes, when you tried to make plans before, you hadto call all of your friend’s houses; some of them weren’t home, so you had to try later. Or maybe a mistake cam up and someone already has plans for the day you wanted and you have nothing else to...
