Bon Jour! This whole club is laden with a French theme… Dad would go a bit bonkers with the Quebec natives hosting plane loads of primarily Franco-speaking Eurotourists. The Chef and his staffdoes whip up a tasty banquet though and there are also hosts from Brazil, Japan, Thailand, just a few from the States, and of course the Bahamas. We are luxuriously spending our days waking late,dining on the terrace overlooking an incredible beach, playing in the lagoon snorkeling over coral reefs, lounging on beach chairs, and getting in some exercise before snacking, coffee, beverages, andother leisure activities. The entire place is tastefully decorated in a colonial style and the Thai staff member apparently was in charge of the interior design. All in all very well done andcertainly the best Club Med of the four I’ve visited. Val highly approves and would like to see a few more of them. There is apparently one in Phuket!

We plan to use the catamarans this afternoon during a mid-day sail across the lagoon, and will go on Val’s third ocean scuba dive tomorrow. We had the fortune to see ahammerhead shark, turtle, and yellow stingray on our first dive along with a pufferfish (Mom would have loved it!), lobster, and plenty of colorful reef fish like tangs, wrasse, parrotfish andothers. Oddly enough we are finding the snorkeling to be just as fun if not more so, since there are plenty of fish swimming around us in even closer proximity than on the scuba dives. They send outlittle search parties to greet us as we approach the reef. Val spotted a flounder yesterday on the sandy bottom and the lion fish continue to be a dramatic sight.
