The Phantom of the Opera is a story which has been adapted for countless mediums and continues to be retold. The book and the movie of The Phantom of the Operacontained many differences and similarities. Erik is never loved by anyone and even never gets love from his parents. In his childhood, nobody wants to get along with him. hewas abandoned by his parents. All of his life the phantom has been ridiculed because of the distortion of his face. He does not realize friendship, either, not tomention falling in love with a girl. Raoul is the Phantom’s rival in love and is in every aspect different from Erik. A man who hardly agree with Raoul saw Christine. Bywearing the mask, the phantom was able to get sympathy from Christine, but without the mask, he was just a horribly deformed man. I think it is easy for a person living indarkness assimilate the loss ofthe only person that I accept it and also I kiss. The phantom’s life was unhappy, incredibly people looking for someone to givethem love andhappiness, not realizing that happiness does not depend on another person. his miserable childhood experience that makes him who he is.
So his personalitydevelops to spilt and extreme. He decides to set both of them free and disappears from the Paris Opera House mysteriously. he realizes that he loves Christine so much that hehas to let her go to Raoul. The solitary mask is metaphorical; the Phantom had been redeemed. Within the Phantom's underground labyrinth, all of the props and setdecorations represent his character and work to bring his passionate spirit to life. I love the Phantom because I see myself within his passion, desires, and spirit.
