Resumen: The paper illustrates the system of higher education of the Russian Federation in view of implementation of the key aspects of the Bologna process. The problems existing in Russian higher education and the process of developing and modernising the system of higher education over the past fifteen years are highlighted. Some recent legislativeinitiatives aimed at reforming the national system of higher education in accordance with the main principles of the Bologna process are presented. The issues of quality assurance, in particular, differences between state and professional accreditation are discussed. The role of the Russian Association for Engineering Education in development of the national system for professional accreditation inengineering education as well as its contribution to setting up a pan-European system for quality assurance in engineering education being created within EHEA are described.

Observaciones: Describe el panorama de la acreditación en Rusia, desde la perspectiva de implementación del Proceso de Boloña (Acuerdo de Boloña 1999), y establece los esfuerzos para la implementación de un marco legislativo quepermita acoplarse a los alcances del mismo, y en ese sentido señala los esfuerzos de la Asociación rusa para la Educación en Ingeniería, en pos de lograr un sistema de acreditación nacional que facilite la movilidad académica. Este artículo muestra el modelo Ruso de Acreditación por Áreas, bajo el sistema no gubernamental de asociación de pares.

Resumen:
There has been considerable interest in national quality assurance process in Turkey following the pilot accreditation project of the Engineering Collegeof the Middle East Technical University (METU) by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), in 2000. ABET accreditation of the Engineering Colleges of Bosphorus and Bilkent Universities followed that of METU. These universities use their accreditation by ABET to attract the best students in the country. Newly founded private universities, in particular, are trying to use theaccreditation of their programmes by international accreditation agencies for marketing purposes. The Higher Educational Council [Yuksek Ögretim Kurumu (YÖK)] , which governs all the universities in Turkey, is currently promoting accreditation studies to improve the quality of higher education in the universities. This is a report on accreditation processes in higher education in Turkey.Observaciones:
