THE TEACHING PROFESSION

​When you receive a recognition award such as Teacher of the Year, it shakes you from the inside out. Meaning that sometimes as teachers we immerseourselves and loose sight of all the things we are doing. Every single teacher that I have worked with is so devoted and works so hard every single day. Having my peers thinking so highly of me just givesme reassurance that I am in the right path. With this award I confirm my belief that what a teacher does everyday really does not happen unnoticed and has a deep influence not only on our studentsbut also on our coworkers. In my work experience I have learned how important our attitude is. Thus, one thing that I know I can do to strengthen the teaching profession is to always have a positiveattitude, the best outcome in mind. A positive mindset inspires you and takes you through the rough times. Besides, it is contagious.
​Another important contribution is to strive for excellence. As ateacher you are always growing and learning. I have committed myself to always be open to suggestions and the advice from my peers. As I learn from them I ensure that I keep on top of the necessarytrainings and workshops. And then I give my best effort every day. I go with the thought of being the best teacher I can be everyday. I see many teachers working under this frame set and in case one isnot I would really recommend it. Thinking this way makes you improve in many ways on a daily basis and you feel more fulfilled since there is always an aspect in you that is growing.
As an educator onemust understand that the world is evolving in many aspects at the speed of light, and that the way children used to learn is not the same today as it was five or ten years ago. We have theresponsibility of staying on top of the technology and not only that, but we need to rediscover on a daily basis the way children learn today.
