LA REPÚBLICA:
La república adopta un homenaje a Sócrates en forma de diálogo. Dos protagonistas: Sócrates (doble de Platón) y Glaucón. Sócrates presenta las teorías y Glaucón se limita a asentir o a solicitar que les sean repetidos losargumentos. El objetivo político de la República es la construcción de la sociedad perfecta. Este objetivo parte de un doble rechazo: 1º Rechazo a la filosofía y a la educación de su época, dominadas por los sofistas y 2º Rechazo a la democracia y a la tiranía.
PREMISAS PRINCIPALES (HIPÓTESIS QUE APARECEN EN LA REPÚBLICA):
Es más importante la sociedad que el individuo. Para alcanzar ésta sociedad, elEstado ha de ser gobernado por quien conoce qué es el Bien. Conocer el Bien es una tarea reservada para los más sabios, los filósofos. Serán los filósofos quienes gobernarán. El Estado, mediante un sistema elitista, formará a los futuros gobernantes que iniciarán un plan de estudios dividido en 5 etapas eliminativas.
