This paper presents, analyzes and supports the need for social organizations to focus on capitalizing on the knowledge provided by people involved in them, enabling them to generate greater value to society, enhancing their competitiveness in the call "Knowledge Economy". This is done through the knowledge management that is basedon human capital, the coordination of the various business units (methods and procedures) and the adoption of appropriate technological tools.

Background

Consolidation in recent decades of globalization has brought a series of rapid transformations in all spheres of public life - economics, science, society, and politics. Specifically in the field of economics, the result of theactivity of some countries is now less than the transformation of the physical basis of production (ie objects, matter and energy transformed into manufactured products) and over the transformation of intellectual base of production, ie the representations of objects (Carrillo, 2005). This is the main feature in the evolution of an industrial economy to a "knowledge economy":
