Florida is one of the states of this country that reflects a very good reputation in this topic. Florida is best known for its quantity in huge and beautiful beaches and its subtropical climate. Florida has much to know about as general information. Florida is located in the extreme Southeastern U.S. It’s bordered by Alabama (West) and Georgia (North). At East, Florida is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, and by the Gulf of Mexico at Southwest.Florida, having a total area of 58,560”, is the 22nd state in size throughout the United States. According to the Estimate of 2008, the population of this state is approximately 18,328,340 people. It grew 128,814 from 2007(Florida, Wikipedia). Florida became the 27th state in U.S. on March 3, 1845, and it remains the same. Florida is well known for the Sunshine State because of its warm subtropicalclimate. Florida is in a good position and population; regardless it is not one of the biggest states.
Florida has variety of geographic features, too. Florida is full of lowland. Naming a few rivers, Florida is composed by the Suwannee River, St, Johns River, and St. Marys River, being the most popular in Florida. The Florida panhandle is in Northwest of Florida acting as a coastline. It is cut intodeep swamps in the Gulf of Mexico. The total area of coastline in Florida is 1308”. The largest lake, with 730”, is Lake Okeechobee. The Everglades, including the Big Cypress Swamp, covers most of southern Florida. Other well known geographic features are the Florida Keys, linked to the main land by a causeway. They are the southeastern tip of Florida peninsula dividing the Atlantic Ocean withthe Gulf of Mexico. They are curved ending up with the Key West. Also, Florida has good climate. It is humid subtropical, and exceeds 100º F (38º C). In summer, there are temperatures of 90º F, and in winter, there are temperatures of 40’s and 50’s ºF with not a lot of snow. Also, the stone, €crude oil and natural gas, and heavy metals are natural resources that can be found in Florida, but they are not very common, though. Florida has great landforms; climate and natural resources that can make peoplevisit it.
The economy in Florida does not vary a lot. People in Florida make a living by tourism. Tourism in Florida helps increasing its economy. Tourists with houses in Florida give billions of dollars annually, making the construction increase (Florida-Economy, City) Farming and lumbering are not very common throughout Florida, but in Northwest Florida. In agriculture, Florida is well known forits citrus fruits and vegetables like melons and strawberries. Dairy farms are from Miami to Pensacola. Florida depends on tourism to have a good economy.
Florida has many important cities in its possession. Its capital is Tallahassee, Florida. It is Northwest Florida. There are many cultural places you can visit in there. The Knott House, famous for its historical facts, was where, in 1865,Brigadier General Edward McCook proclaimed the Emancipation Proclamation. Other place you can visit is the Museum of Florida History and The Old Capitol. Also, there are more important cities within Florida.
