For High School Freshman Only
At this point, you do not need to worry about choosinga definite college yet. You may, however, want to take a look at some colleges’ statistics such as their GPA, SAT and ACT scores requirements. These scores may be newto you, but get accustomed to them. The sooner you learn what they are, the better off you will be later on when you apply to colleges your senior year. GPA standsfor grade point average and it is a number all colleges ask for. This number is your combined average and it includes the grades from all your classes since yourfreshman year, all the way up to your junior and/ or the first semester of your senior year. So, keep in mind that all grades count. Don’t slack off. The SAT and ACT scoresare also REALLY important and most, if not all, colleges ask for them. You take these tests in your junior and senior year, but you may benefit from taking a PSAT(practice SAT) test in your sophomore year. These scores are a way of showing colleges how well you do in standardized tests. These tests are usually seen as complicated, but they are really not if you start practicing for them early. Note that I say practicing and not studying. This is because these tests can’t be studied for; they aredifferent every time they are given. Also note that you can take these tests as many times as you want, and you are allowed to give some colleges only your best scores.
