Frankenstein

The story begins with Captain Robert Walton sailing to the North Pole in the 18th century. Unfortunately, the boat gets stuck in impassible ice hundreds of miles from land.
He suddenly sees a man:his name is Victor Frankenstein and he recounts his life to Walton.
He spent a happy childhood in Geneva, interrupted by the loss of his mother, who died while giving birth to his brother William.In love with his adopted sister Elizabeth, who felt likewise, Victor went to Ingolstadt to study natural philosophy, chemistry and alchemy. Here he meets Henry Clerval and the old professor Waldman,who had tried to create a human being.
In about two years he figures out how to bring a body made of human corpse pieces to life. Afterwards, he is horrified by his own creation and falls ill. Luckyfor him Henry, nurses him back to health.
Back in Geneva, Victor’s younger brother, William, is murdered. The Frankenstein family servant, Justine, is accused of killing him and executed.
Victorruns into the monster, who confesses the crime. The monster tells him a moving story about how he has been alienated from the society. He spent a long time living near a cottage and observing the familywho lived there. In so doing, he learned to speak and to read. This family gave him hope that he would find compassion, but even they drove him away. The monster asks Victor to create for him a femalecompanion as monstrous as he. After much persuading, Victor agrees.
Victor leaves to make a new monster and when he is almost finished, he destroys the second creation. After that, the monsterswears revenge. When Victor lands on a shore among Irish people, they accuse him of murdering Henry, who has been found dead. Victor falls ill again. His father comes to visit.
Victor returns to Genevato marry Elizabeth, but on the night of the wedding the monster kills the bride. This death causes Victor's father to pass away from grief.
