Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech is the right to communicate any idea or opinion you want. Even do this is a very good right many governments in the world impose, is not totallysecure. Many governments have limitations when is about freedom of speech like with obscenity, defamation, persuade somebody to commit criminal acts, or copyright violations. Freedom of Speech hasbeen recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Unfortunately although in many countries Freedom of Speech is limited, many people inflict the law by notobeying certain limitations and using speech as a weapon.
Until what point Freedom of Speech can be useful or harmful in the community we live?
Freedom of Speech is a right every human beingshould have. Although is a very common right which nobody put attention to, it carry a huge responsibility. Words can create very huge effects in people. Words can make people feel things, imagine, andalso very important express their ideas. Words can be the solution to many problems in the world but also words can be powerful weapons.
Words can be powerful weapons when they are used with badintentions. Using words and expressing in a bad way all the opinions, can have a psychological effect on people. Many people use words to hurt other people thinking it wouldn´t have a big effect.By using words to hurt people, the ones who suffer the consequences can feel them long-range.
A very good example of using Freedom of Speech in a bad way is in bullying. Bullying is the action inwhich a person hurt other person psychologically or physically in order to make the other person feel inferior. Bullying is a very common problem in teen agers. Bullying can have extremeconsequences in the teen agers. In many cases teen agers only ignore those actions, but when it continues it can turn into something very serious like death.
