Good morning everybody, here is our presentation, my name is Julian, his is Christian and hers is Jenifer. Right know we will be talking about the free trade agreement that was justsinged almost a month ago between Colombia and United States. Our job is based on these two countries and we will not go any further than this. We will be telling you what we think are the advantagesand disadvantages of this negotiation. We will first take a quick overview of both countries, just like the general information and then we will start talking about the main topics of the treaty.

The U.S. economy is the world's largest national economy and it is also one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations. People from different nations around theworld go to the states looking for a better future due to the strong economy.
Colombia is the second largest country in SA after Brazil
Colombia has the fourth largest economy in Latin America, butthe income and wealth are unevenly distributed.
Now let’s go over the treaty between these two countries.
So basically what the treaty is about is that it would immediately eliminate duties on 80%of U.S. exports of consumer and industrial products to Colombia. An additional 7% of U.S. exports would receive duty-free treatment within five years of implementation and all
Remaining tariffs wouldbe eliminated within ten years after implementation.

It was first thought by ex-president uribe, his governmentwas looking to bring more economic stability in the country and more foreign investment.
Just so you know United States is Colombia’s leading trade partner and Colombia accounts for a very smallpercentage of us trade. The impact on the United States would be positive but very small.
