The ongoing commitment of “ volatile organic compounds “ ( VOC )being emitted to the atmosphere, has been taken as permanent goal at Empak Spirotallic Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., to make possible to warrant to its customers that all their valves will perform theirwork at an absolute controlled emissions level, even at the current most demanding control limits, of the so called LDAR program of the EPA in the USA.
Although since 10 years ago there is a documentedsupport of the superior performance of the Style EAF 100 – 001 stem packing, as the tests performed by a well known valve manufacturer under ISO 15848-1 requirements, constant actualizations inmaterials and design, allows to maintain at the top of this type of valve gland packing system globally our Style EAF 100 – 001 stem packing that has been successfully tested according API 622 Standard lastOctober 2010 at Yarmouth Research & Technology Laboratory with outstanding results in static and dynamic motion with leaking rates at average on the single digit of emissions and the last cyclesshowed readings of only 3 ppmv´s, demonstrating it endurance and extraordinary sealing due to its design.
Different / Special Packing Design
The Style EAF 100 – 001 stem packing, designed by EmpakSpirotallic Mexicana, S.A. de C.V., has demonstrated that gives the best possible control of VOC emissions with minimum maintenance and extended life span of more than 5 years of operation. It consists atthe top and bottom of two die molded rings made of braided graphite filament encapsulated with Inconel wire, plus two molded flexible graphite center rings and one special central die formed ring.All rings have a special configuration, who forces them to seal together and to take advantage of “pressure activated” principle.
