Chapter 4. Electromagnetic induction. Faraday-Lenz Law. AC generator. Self induction. Energy of the magnetic field.Reading magnetically stored information.
PART II. CIRCUIT ANALYSIS AND EM WAVES
a) Theory (3 ECTS). Problems (2.25 ECTS)
b) Laboratory (0.75 ECTS). Lab sessions will be performed in the PhysicsLaboratory (1st floor, EPS I Building). The student must elaborate a report for each session, containing: the meassurements, the calculations and the reasoned answers to the quentions put forward in eachexperiment guide. In order to get a pass for the whole subject, it is mandatory to do all the lab sessions. The lab grade (LAB) must be at least 4 to pass the whole subject. Lab weeks: 3-7 October,17-21 October, 14-18 November, 28 Nov-2 December, 12-16 December Evaluation: the evaluation of the subject will be distributed among several kinds of tests and works, seeking for a continuus evaluation.Theory Tests (TT). The students will perform several tests, using web based thechnologies, on the theoretical contents presented during the classes. Problem Tests (PT). The students will have to solveselected problems, during the Problem Classes, as well as problems to solve at home proposed by the professor. Final exam (FE). The official exam of the subject. Contains problems and questions . Thefinal grade (FG) of the subject will be computed by means of the following formula FG = 0.20 x TT1 (web) + 0.35 x TT2 (class) + 0.30 x PT + 0.15 x LAB Only if FG < 5 you have to do the Final Exam, inwhich case the formula will be FG = 0.85 x FE + 0.15 x LAB
