GAME PROJECT
LINGUISTIC OBJECTIVES
- To use some vocabulary and to review some grammar structures.
STAGES
- Basic.
- Intermediate.
- Advanced.
GAME DEVELOPMENT1ST STAGE: BASIC LEVEL: VOCABULARY.
Material: paper dolls, posters with habitual activities, body part labels.
DESCRIPTION
Contestants roll the dice which has colors instead of numbers. Eachcolor has an envelope that has a card which describes the activity contestants are going to perform. They should read the card carefully and do the activity according to the color that they got. Theyhave just one minute to do it.
COLORS AND ACTIVITIES EACH COLOR HAS
Blue: dress the paper doll and describe her clothes.
Red: label the body parts.
Green: describe the doll’s physicalappearance.
Yellow: describe the doll’s habitual activities.
If the contestant does this successfully, he’s ready to move on to the next stage.
2nd STAGE: INTERMEDIATE: GRAMMAR: MIXEDCONDIONALS.
Material: card board paper with conditional grammar rules, flash cards with action verbs and markers.
DESCRIPTIION
1st Show contestants a card board paper with the grammar frames forconditionals.
2nd have them pick out a flash card with an action verb and write a sentence with it.
3rd another contestant should read the sentence and complete it in order to make a conditionalsentence following the rules from the card board paper.
4th contestants must continue the same way until they complete with the four types of conditionals.
3RD STAGE: ADVANCED LEVEL: MAKINGCONCLUSSIONS AND INFERENCES BY USING PERFECT MODAL AUXILIARIES.
MATERIAL: pictures with some events going on, card board paper with the grammar explanation of the perfect modal auxiliaries.
DESCRIPTION1st contestants analyze the rules from the card board paper and the degrees of certainty, then they look at the pictures and start drawing conclusions based on the pictures about the events....
