Gandhi was born in October 2, 1869 and died in January 30,1948. Gandhi’s hometown is located in Porbandar, Bombay Presidency, British India. He was named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The word Gandhimeans grocer, and generations earlier that had been the family occupation. At the age of thirteen he married Kasturbi who was also thirteen before his father died. When his mother sent him to lawschool in 1888. While he was there he fell in love, to speak the nonviolent ways of the Hindu scriptures of the Bhagavad-Gita, and in the bible the telling of Jesus.

He later retuned to Indiain 1891as a lawyer but he was unsuccessful in starting a law firm so he sought work in South Africa. He received a job offer for a year and left his wife and children. In south Africa he became aleader in the Indian majorities, he fought to end discrimination creating the natal Indian congress witch as the Indian voice foe south Africa, he was also in the in the British army during the Boer Waras a Indian medical commander. He ended up staying there until 1914 and his wife and children came in1896.
In 1914 he returned as a hero to all Indian people and he was considered a hollyman because of this he was often referred to as Mahatma, which means great soul. Wile in India the British started to take India’s civil liberties after World War I, Gandhi protested fallowing his ownnonviolent ways when the Amritsar massacre occurred and both he and India came to the realization that India needed to be a self governed.

Gandhi then took the British apart withSatyagraha and was imprisoned for two years in1922. When he got out he took a brake from his political work and traveled around India working various jobs as a peasants. Then in 1930 he was at it againwriting the declaration of independence for India. This act of treason inspired many more across the country rendering the British helpless once again forcing them to invite Gandhi to London for meeting...
