The Freedom to live in America

He falls hard on the dusty, warm dirt, and quickly rises up because he knows that if he gets left behind, it’s all over for him. An old lady walking down the street on a cold December morning puts up job ads so someone can hire her as a housekeeper. In her mind she is saying “I need to find a job soon or my poor children willstarve. I don’t’ care if they pay at a low wage, we need the money to pay the rent or we’ll get thrown out.” Both have one thing in common; they are illegal immigrants who come to America to obtain a new life, and a better future for their families. Why not let them share the American Dream with us? Immigrants benefit the country for many reasons. They help fill in the jobs that native-borncitizens don’t want, boost the economy, and help create a better image for the country of America. Illegal immigrants should have the same and equal rights as us Americans, to be able to work and live in the U.S legally.
The United States would probably be considered as the economic envy of the world. Labor is one of a number of costs of doing business. With the presence of illegal immigrants theybenefit the consumers and companies. Immigrants do the jobs that most native-born citizens don’t do even though the jobs are paid at a low wage. Having them would increase the number of productivity in business. If there was a positive productivity there would be more jobs available due to the flourishing business and increasing consumer prices. With that, products could be sold at cheap prices. Areport by the National research council of the National Academy of sciences found that immigrants raise the incomes of U.S born workers by at least $10 billion dollars per year (NRC). With the deportation of illegal immigrants business have gone down. Marissa Ruiz, owner of a shop, said this “Right before the bill passed, we noticed a big, big difference. We saw a drop of 60 percent within aweek.” Their presence is a need for the country. Right now there are fewer customers as well as employees that are leaving the country because of their terror of being deported. No costumers and no employees bring down business.
Back in the 1800s immigrants from the Northern and Western Europe came to America to rebuild their lives and create futures for their families. With their presence theyhelped establish technology, medicine, law and education in the country. Think of the foreigners that are now living the U.S, now think of what skills they could bring to the U.S to make it into a greater nation than it already is. Some immigrants from other nations don’t like what they have in their own country and seek America as the opportunity to obtain knowledge. To show what skills they have tomake the country better. Even though they are born from another country, immigrants are disproportionally represented in such high leveled skilled fields such as medicine, physics and computer science. Some immigrants who had come to America have now become great teachers, doctors and other professionals and have contributed in making America a better place for people to be in. During the bloomsof the 1900s the national unemployment rate fell below 4 percent and real wages rose up and down the income scale during a time of high immigration (illegal immigration). Immigrants have developed new products such as Java computer language that have created employments opportunities for millions of Americans (Java network). Immigrants also play a vital role in the U.S economy and that is spending.Consumer markets have shown that Hispanic consumer spending would increase by $340 billion between 200 and 2007 (John Yinger) .
More immigrants in the country mean more opportunity for drug dealers, terrorists, and other criminals to enter the country. As discovered we know that many of the terrorists on 9/11 who attacked the U.S came to the country illegally. Giving them citizenship would...
