People around the word do not really have a clear image a about Colombia and what to make in Colombia, in the collective imagination, Colombia have a further stereotypes based on exotic, lawless and extremely dangerous asconsequence of the illegal narcotics trade and an ongoing armed conflict have contributed negatively Colombian reputation. In fact, there are plenty information unknown by the worldwide, such as Colombia has been working really hard to figure out all the issues left by the violence over the last 30 years. In addition, culture smart book written by Kate Cathey was written focused to helpthe lectors to understand the nature of Colombian. In order to understand the book review is necessary to understand author background, main topic, and critical assessment and give some useful recommendations to other to read it.

Firstly, according to culture smart book, the writer and cultural researcher: Kate Cathey decided to travel around and begin a further investigation about theintricacies of Colombian culture (Cathey, K 2011), moreover, she was born in the United States of America, she attended a colleague where she study art history and later graduated with a BA in world art and cultures, concentration in anthropology. For her next step of studies, she travelled in Latin America, writing about regional cultural trough her further researches in each culture traditions. Shehas lived in Mexico DF, where she attended and wrote about ferias, fiestas and festivals throughout the country. In 2009 Kate moved out to Mexico with destiny to Colombia where she continues her investigations currently based in Colombia, after a large investigation she wrote Colombia book with its a value piece of what is really Colombia and what to make Colombia a magical country. (Cathey, K2011)

Secondly, the book is based on Colombia from different ways to improve Colombian cultural knowledge, so, Colombia declared its independence on 20 July 1819, since then Colombia identity is known by diversity cultural traditions of distinct groups that have unique customs, accents, social patterns, and cultural adaptations. Which are classified into three cultures: those in the interior,the countryside, and the coastal regions. (Colombia, 2001). Furthermore, the book contents are divided into 9 charters uncharged to provide further information local customs, values, and traditions, historical, religious, and political background, life at home
, leisure, social, and cultural life
, eating and drinking
, do's, don'ts, and taboos
 business practices
, communication, spoken andunspoken. Indeed, the book is really helpful to understand and make a clear view of the Colombian cultural, learning deeply about their land and people how the life and how they behave, so Colombians values and attitudes depend on their family members, social class, beliefs (COLOMBIA, nd). Also customs and Colombian traditions have a relevant influence as result Colombians are really proud oftheir country and are deeply attached their native culture. The book has a clear purpose which is deliver how the country ‘s geography and history have influence dramatically to built recent days values and values, as well there is a international purpose to advice on a safe holidays, relevant and practical guide on how Colombian culture is seen from different points of view and howColombians communicate and think about each other, neighbours, and foreigners.

Thirdly, the book is a values piece of paper how Colombia looks like regarding to various issues, what have made a Colombia a beautiful paradise, so, from the beginning until the end the book illustrates a clear idea of Colombia, its has the enough capacity to expand the knowledge of this country, moreover, the...
