Chiaroscuro: It’s the sensation or presence of volume produced by the mix of light and dark in the objects. With this technique you will create three dimensionality to second dimensionalobjects, giving them life and reality.

Highlight: Marks the point where the light it’s been reflected directly.

Light: The bright part of a painting.

Shadow: It’s the portion of the objectthat receives the light directly but it can’t take it because it’s in the opposite side of the light.

Reflected Light: The light that comes to an object and, because of the characteristics of thearea rebounds on the object.

Crest Shadow: Where the Light doesn’t reach the object.

Crosshatching: It’s a technique that combines small strokes parallel to another or crossing them, of course,leaving small parts of white for the lighting parts or less strokes.

Renaissance: Cultural movement that starts from the 14th Century to the 17th Century. It was born in Italy in the Late Middle Agesand after that, spreads to the rest of Europe.

Barroque: Period of the History of Art that used exaggerated motion and clear, producing drama, tension, exuberance and grandeur in all the motions ofArt (painting, literature, music, dance, etc.). It was born in Rome, Italy and then spreads all over Europe.

19th Century: It’s the era where the world changed totally. Started by the IndustrialRevolution, the human being tried to find all the explanations by the scientific way and the society where more practical and rational. They looked for justice and liberty and the improvement of theeconomy and strongest ideologies.

20th Century: part of the History where the technology, medicine and science where very important. It’s the end of the slavery in the developed countries.
