GRAY GARDENS THE MOVIE
In the movie gray gardens Edith E. Boubier Beale, otherwise known as "Big Eddie" is awoman trapped in her own dreams of greatness and talent.
through married with three children and servants who cater to her every need , she is often found performing at her home, referred to as GreyGardens, her audience consist of mostly neighbors, families members and her cast which include her daughter and her hired musician George Gould.
big Eddies daughter, who is named after her motherthat referred Tomas "little Eddie" is taught to be her side kick of sorts and dance together believing they are amazing their capture audience.
As Big Eddie husband deals with the challenges of GreatDepression, he confronts her about her spending, cutting households staff and stresses the financial stress they are experiencing. She continues to live in her "fantasy world " Consisting of hermusician George Gould, her side kick little Eddie and her home, Gray Gardens as her stage.
eventually Big Eddie life begins to fall apart when her husband divorce her and marries another woman, hermusician and lover leaves her, her sons move away and her daughter moves to new York in the hopes of being discovered.
Big Eddie her self alone, finds a way to force her daughter to return home nowthat the two are reunited at Gray Gardens, both feed of each other delusions of fame and talent. Not able to notice that everything around them is falling apart, they live in a pretend world off pastdreams and wishful thinking.
Big Eddie in her mind only thrive and exist at Gray Gardens her stage , her daughter little Eddie was her audience and cast member, her partner and between the two buildthey're own world of fame and fortune.
Detached from the rest of the world with no television and not leaving the grounds of Gray Gardens , Big Eddie home became not only her sanctuary from...
