Great Aztec Achievements
Another greatarchitectural achievement made by the Aztec was the creation of chinampas. “These artificial island also referred as “floating gardens,” though they do not actually float” (“Aztec Farming”) the chinampasprovided fertile land for planting crops. This was an extraordinary achievement because it helped the Aztec civilization grow. “Extensive Aztec farming activities took place on the chinampas, includingthe growing of squash, corn, flowers, and vegetables for which the climate was ideal.” (Aztec Farming”)
Aztec pyramids were outstanding buildings. As said by the article “Aztec Pyramids,” “Aztecarchitecture is best described as colossal, intending chiefly to manifest their power, while simultaneously adhering to strong religious beliefs.” the Aztec pyramids were built to worship their god butit was very important the pyramids were used when there were human sacrifices. The pyramid was considered ancestral spirits, since many important people were buried there. The greatest pyramid stood inthe capital city of Tenochtitlan it stood 60m above the city. This majestic pyramid was dedicated to Huitzilopochtli, the god of war and sun and Taltoc, the god of rain and fertility.
One of theAztecs most delicious achievements was popcorn. Popcorn was already been invented, but the Aztecs were the ones to introduce popcorn to the world.
