ESCUDO SIGNIFICADO
El emblema nacional de Pakistán fue aprobado en 1954. Se suele representar en color verde. En la parte superior del mismo figuran un creciente (luna creciente) y la estrella decinco puntas que representan a la mayoría islámica del país y que también figuran en la bandera nacional. El elemento central es un escudo cuartelado con elementos alusivos a la agricultura. En cadauno de los cuarteles aparecen representadas las cuatro mayores cosechas que se producían en Pakistán en la época en que se elaboró el escudo: el algodón, la juta, el té y el trigo. La guirnalda floralque rodea al escudo simboliza la historia del país y su diseño es de origen mogol.
En la parte inferior aparece representada una cinta que contiene el lema nacional en Urdu y que fue pronunciado porMuhammad Ali Jinnah: "Iman, Ittehad, Nazm" ("Lealtad, Unidad, Disciplina").
