In this essay I will talk about some topics, such as the Greek society, what does the Greeks influenced in our society, also I will talk about, functionalism, our functions as a society, and howdepending of our personalities to fit in society. The positivism as a fundamental theory that we have to apply in ourselves to improve as human beings and as citizens. Also the conflict theory by KarlMarx of the social divisions and how that divisions can “destroy” the society.
The ancient Greeks let to us the super famous “Democracy”, the etymological meaning of democracy is: “Demos”: the people,“Kratos”: Power. That means the power to the people, that he people has the power to “govern” itself. I as a Mexican I have so much faith on the democracy, but Mexico disuse that liberty of thinking thatMexico as a free country, the power of the politicians is based on their own benefits and their political side. In 2 months I will be 18 and I will have the rights to vote for my political views, Iam so excited to can participate in the elections of the next Coahuila’s Governor.
The functionalism for me is very true because if some police officer ask me some money (mordida) and “forgive me”the ticket and I “proceed” to give him the money, we are corrupting society, because that “event” will happen and happen again and again. We are destroying our society.
Now Karl Marx, Conflict Theory,social division, what is this? Is the social division, in an easy way: The poor making richer the rich. In the world it exist so much different economics systems, as capitalism, andcommunism. In many countries the capitalism is the economic system used and this causes a lot of differences between social classes, the 80% percent of the population is working the other 20%.The problem with the capitalism is that exist so many people that waste money on stupid things for just wasting it, when they are millions and millions without the privilege of EATING , that are...
