Wenlock School Restrictions
Since Wenlock School opened in Santiago de Chile in 1982, it has always been limited in terms of rules. As years go by, there have been many students that complainabout all these rules. Is all this lack of freedom in school necessary?
To began with this lack of freedom, the use uniforms will be analyzed. Uniforms are really unnecessary, they limit students toexpress themselves. They are very uncomfortable and also very ugly. As experts say (of the Hospital Clinicoquirúrgico "Hermanos Ameijeiras"), uniforms are not necessary, and also they are an extracost for parents, they are expensive and they can only be use on school.
On the one hand, the rules of going to all matches will also be analyzed. In Wenlock School you don’t have the option ofchoose the sport you want to practice, you don’t have that freedom of choice, instead of that you must play football and rugby. For example students of this school must assist to all matches on theirweekends, even if you don’t like or if you don’t want to play that sport.
On the other hand, the strict rules inside and outside the classroom will be analyzed. As first point, you are notallowed to bring cell phones to school. This rule is very unnecessary, because sometimes emergencies appear, and in that case you really need your cell phone to call. As second and last point, you are notallowed to eat in class. This rule is also unnecessary, because if you eat in class you are not bothering anyone. All these rule are showed in Wenlock School’s conduct code.
As it has beendemonstrated, the lack of freedom at Wenlock School it is very present. In my personal point of view, all these points I have analyzed must be reanalyzed by teachers and the headmaster of Wenlock Schoolfor the best of all students at Wenlock School. Then, all this lack of freedom in Wenlock School it is not necessary.
