The cold war was a conflict between two political ideologies which are capitalism and communism took place right after the world war two in 1945 to 1991. This war was represented mostly by USA andthe USSR. It’s a “cold” war because it never had a direct attack between those countries; it was a non violence war where both tried to expand to all the nations their own ideologies. Even though thisencounters fortunately never ended in an another world war but as consequence the importance of economic , political and ideological conflicts involved, leave a scar in a big part of XX century.
Thiswar had very important events; one of them was the Marshall plan that took place in June 1947. The initiative was named after the secretary of state George Marshall who promoted this plan as alarge-scale American program to give support and help rebuild European economics after the end of world war two in order to combat the spread of soviet communism. USA’s goal was to make Europe prosperousagain, modernizing their industries, improving economy and removing trade barriers; obviously because of personal benefits. This plan lasted four years, in this time technical assistance was given tohelp the recovery of the European countries of the Organization for European Economic Co-operation.
Other event important was Berlin blockade in 1948; it began when Germany decided changed to the old"Reichmark" by "Deutschemark", first changed in their zone and on June 23, the west introduced the new currency into Berlin. The Soviets reacted by pursuing a reform in the area that included the cityof Berlin, The Soviet government perceived the new "Deutschemark" as a threat to the East German economy, so the June 24 of 1948 Stalin ordered his troops block all land access to West Berlin, theyinitiated the "Berlin Blockade” the railways and highways were restricted so that no surface traffic between the western zones and Berlin.
