INTRODUCTION
This class game is adapted from the famous Spanish game show called Un, dos, tres (3-2-1 in the British version). The programme on tv consisted of three rounds of different games bywhich the players were eliminated until only one couple reached the final round to win an incredible prize. This class game is only the first round. I didn’t want to keep one name or the other, so Icompletely changed the title and made up a catchy rhyme to say all the time, this will be appealing for students.

OBJECTIVE
Widen students vocabulary by naming words belonging to a semantic field.NUMBER OF PLAYERS
Students play in pairs, make up as much pairs as you can. If you have a lot of students in the class you can also make groups of three or four.

TIMING
You will need at leastforty minutes to get the game started and have all the pairs answering at least once.

DIFFICULTY
I will show you an example of cards in order to play with elementary and intermediate students, butyou should adapt the difficulty of the game by making up your own cards.

PROCEDURE
Divide the students in pairs or groups. One student (or the teacher) will be the host of the game, reading thecards and keeping record of the scores. One group starts by choosing a card from the deck . Every time a card is chosen, the host will tell the players the semantic field by repeating this rhyme: “Forfive points each, NAMES OF TREES, for example APPLE TREE, think it over and … say it again!”. One student repeats the example answer and then the other says another word belonging to that semanticfield. They say all the words they can answering in turns. The couples have to name as much things that belong to that category as they can in just one minute. The host counts the correct answers and addsup the score. The next group repeats the same procedure and so on utill it’s time to finish the game.
