SERVICE TOOL GUIDE
Use of proper Service Tools assures your customers of the best service. Service Tools should allow maintenance and repair work to be carried out safely, quickly, and easily, without damaging the machine.

No matter how quickly repair and maintenance work can be done, if there is a high degree of danger involved, it will be impossible to work smoothly, withpeace of mind.

On the other hand, servicemen should not take a long time to fix a customer's machine, nor should their work be unnecessarily difficult. Today, preventive maintenance, designed to forestall major repairs, is a common practice. To this end, analysis and diagnostic tools are essential for service operations of earthmoving equipment distributors.

This Service Tool Guideintroduces tools developed by Komatsu, and explains their application and method of use. General tools, such as spanners, wrenches and hammers needed for repair and maintenance of Komatsu machines, are not listed in this Guide. Such tools are discussed in the Service Equipment Guide. We hope that this Guide will help you to improve your service activities.

It is composed of the following five sections: • SECTION 1 : "INDEX" Filed in this section are the sheets that give you the informatioh on the indexes of tools by the tool numbers (or numericalindexes) and the indexes of tools in the alphabetical order. • SECTION 2 :"MEASURING AND DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS" Filed in this section are the sheets that give you the information on the measuring and diagnostic tools as required when troubleshooting the machine. • SECTION 3 : "COMMON TOOLS" Filed in this section are the sheets that give you the information on the tools that can be used for the generalservicing on the machine and that can be used for any machine model in common. • SECTION 4 :"SPECIAL TOOLS FOR ENGINE" Filed in this section are the sheets that give you the information on the special tools as required when disassembling, reassembling, or troubleshooting the engine.
