Hamlet and death
Death is present in all Shakespearean Hamlet. There are nine dead characters in the play, one is already dead and during the course of the work, eight persons die. The firstdeceased character is King Hamlet; he is the ghost of the story. Others inert characters are: Polonius, he is carrying out plans devised by the king or queen to discover the nature of Hamlet’s madness.Hamlet thinks that Polonius is Claudius and he kills him. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, they are supposed to be Hamlet's friends, but are helping the King and Queen spy on Hamlet. They seem quitewilling to work against Hamlet in order to gain favor with the King and Queen. Ophelia, who is ill-treated by Hamlet, presumably distraught from her father's death and ultimately goes mad and dead,.Gertrude, she drinks a cup of poison intended for Hamlet by the King. Laertes, Hamlet is able to use Laertes' own poisoned sword against him, wounding Laertes . Claudius, in Hamlet´s final moments, heapproaches and slays Claudius. Finally Prince Hamlet is death too.
Also we can see death in other sense, for example one personality attempted to suicide him (Horatio), other is the responsible for thedead of thousands (Fortinbras). After Hamlet's father dies, Hamlet is completely consumed with the notion of death, continually coming back to death as something which may provide the final answers forall of Hamlet's burning questions.
In every scene of the play death is present. Not only it is presented as the death action, also symbols of mortality are showed. In every act, Hamlet is wearingblack clothes and he refuses to take off it which signifies that he is in mourning, and persists at remaining melancholy throughout the play. Other symbol is the recurrent appear of the Hamlet´s Ghost.In every meeting with the phantom, they talk about the defunct people and the demand of the Hamlet revenge.
