HEARING AIDS

As human beings, we count with five senses: hearing, touching, tasting, smelling and seeing. Hearing is the sense of sound and perception. As a sense, it permits us to hear what isout in the environment, how much is out there, if there is more or less of it than before, where it is and if it is changing in time or place. However, hearing is just adequate to certain point;illnesses, injuries, certain medicines, age and loud noises levels can cause a person to become deaf as long as he/she didn’t born with deafness. Long time ago, even before pre-historic times, peoplebecame deaf and they will stop listening for the rest of their lives. This was once a global issue.

Hearing is referred to the ear and how it works. Ears pick up the sound around us and translateit into a form our brain can understand. This process is completely mechanical and is based only on physical movement.

Sound travels through the opening of the outer ear and causes the eardrum tovibrate. Three small bones in your middle ear carry this vibration to the cochlea. The vibration stimulates hair cells, which create an electrical current in the auditory nerve. This current transmitsthe sound via nerve impulses to the brain, where it is processed into noise.
