Hell when they are alive
In the short story of Ernest Hemingway The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber and the play No Exit of Jean Paul Sartre similar characters are reflected. One of thecharacters is Estelle that shows how a baby can represent hell, and Macomber that reflects how having a wife is hell. These two characters reflect hell when they both are alive.
Estelle andMacomber knew about what happen with their lives. Macomber knew that her wife was cheating on him. When her wife was cheating on him she said she was only taking some air, but Macomber knew what was thereality. (Hemingway 18). As well as Estelle she did not want to have a baby. “ESTELLE: You've got it all wrong, you two. He wanted me to have a baby. So there! GARCIN: And you didn't want one?ESTELLE: I certainly didn't. But the baby came, worse luck. I went to Switzerland for five months. No one knew anything. It was a girl. Roger was with me when she was born. It pleased him no end, having adaughter. It didn't please me!”(Satre 14). This shows how Estelle was creating her own hell, even though for some people have a baby is a blessing for her was hell. Estelle always knew that her hell washaving a baby and Macomber´s hell was being cheated for his wife. Neither Estell and Macomber were living a happy life.
Macomber and Estelle had the courage of doing what they really thoughtit war right. Macomber told Wilson what he thinks about the lion. “I don’t want to go in there,” said Macomber. It was out before he knew he’d said it.” He was not accepted by Wilson and his wife buthe really had the courage of saying the truth knowing that Wilson was not going to accepted. As well as Estelle, she did not wanted to have a kid and she did something at respect. “ESTELLE: There was abalcony overlooking the lake. I brought a big stone. He could see what I was up to and he kept on shouting: "Estelle, for God's sake, don't!" I hated him then. He saw it all. He was leaning over...
