Hi my name is Alexa and I will talk about my opinion essay about seventh grade by Gary Soto. Have you ever tried to impress someone instead of expressing your feelings to him or herstraight up? If you have then you should know from experience that you would actually save yourself a lot of trouble if you just express your feelings to somebody you like. In the story “SeventhGrade” by Gary Soto, the main character Victor tries to impress his crush Teresa during French class. Victor ends up having to learn French so he could tutor Teresa; he is now at the mercy of his Frenchteacher and also embarrassed himself in class.in my opinion Victor could have saved himself a lot of trouble by just going up to Teresa and expressing his feelings for her to her.
I think you wouldactually save yourself a lot of trouble if you just express your feelings to somebody you like through the fact that Victor now has to learn French. This is because he agreed to help Teresa with Frenchwhen he himself doesn’t speak the language. Now he must go to the library and check out some textbooks as was mentioned at the end of the story.
and that you would actually save yourself a lot oftrouble if you just express your feelings to somebody you like by the fact that Victor is now at the mercy of his French teacher. Since Mr. Bueller didn’t tell Teresa that Victor really didn’t knowFrench, Victor now is in Mr. Bueller’s debt. This could come back to bite him if he ever pushes Mr. Bueller too far. Then Teresa would know that Victor lied to her about knowing French and I don’t thinkgirls appreciate being lied to.
I also think that you would actually save yourself a lot of trouble if you just express your feelings to somebody you like through the fact that Victor embarrassedhimself in class. Victor answered Mr. Bueller’s question with words that didn’t even sound vaguely French. Victor felt so embarrassed that he “wished he could start his life over.”
