First ofall, Mother Teresa of Calcutta changed the lives of many people, by helping people, especially the poorest.
Since she was a little girl, she knew that she will serve God.
In 1928, at her 18 yearsold, she started teaching the humblest guys of the India.
She was volunteer of the Loreto convent college, by almost 20 years.
There she taught history and geography to the poor children.
She heard“The call of God” he told her to devote her life to the underprivileged of society.
That’s why in 1948 she left the convent.
She started to work with the poorest, teaching them how to read.Mother Teresa said that “the call of God” was her principal motivation”, the reason why she was doing that.
Then, she became a nurse in 3 months, and finally she went to the poorest neighborhoods.
Therewere really needy people, with diseases, people that feel lonely, and Mother Teresa gave them her help.
Another way Mother Teresa helped to change the lives of others is through forming in 1950 acongregation called “Missioners of Charity”
Her mission was to care: hungry, naked, homeless, disabled, lepers, people who felt lonely or unprotected.
At the beginning it only had 13 members.
Withthe time, have reached over 4000 members.
This congregation offered charity and care to refuges, blinds, alcoholics, elderly, flood victims, epidemics, and famine.
It didn’t matter the religion...
