What is Music?

According to the traditional definition of the term, the art of organizing a logically sensible and coherent combination of sounds and silences using fundamental principles of melody, harmony and rhythm, through the intervention of complex psycho-psychic processes.

The music, like any art form, is a cultural product. The music is composed by two basic elements: sounds, and"silences".

Sound is the sensation perceived by the ear to receive the pressure changes induced by the vibratory movement of sonorous bodies. It is transmitted by the medium that surrounds them, which is usually air in the atmosphere. Height is often the result of the body that produces a sound. The duration is the time it takes for vibrations that produce sound.
Intensity is the strengthwith which a sound is produced, depends on energy.
Timbre is the quality that distinguishes the different instruments or voices even though they are producing sounds with the same pitch, duration and intensity.

Music is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, or as an entertainment product for the marketplace. Amateurmusicians compose and perform music for their own pleasure, and they do not derive their income from music. Professional musicians are employed by a range of institutions and organizations, including armed forces, churches and synagogues, symphony orchestras, broadcasting or film production companies, and music schools. Professional musicians sometimes work as freelancers, seeking contracts andengagements in a variety of settings.
There are often many links between amateur and professional musicians. Beginning amateur musicians take lessons with professional musicians. In community settings, advanced amateur musicians perform with professional musicians in a variety of ensembles and orchestras. In some cases, amateur musicians attain a professional level of competence, and they are able toperform in professional performance settings. A distinction is often made between music performed for the benefit of a live audience and music that is performed for the purpose of being recorded and distributed through the music retail system or the broadcasting system. However, there are also many cases where a live performance in front of an audience is recorded and distributed (or broadcast).Reggaeton
