HISTRIONIC PERSONALITY DISORDER IN THE RELATIONSHIPS DYNAMIC

The psychiatric science has been classifying mental sickness by symptoms’ characteristics. Some of them have serious consequences inthe patient’s lives than others. This kind of disorders can modify the routine from the person who has the sickness and stop his daily activities to become active less. On the other hand, there aresome mental disorders such as the histrionic personality; where symptoms can be considered of down level because the patient’s activity is not affected at all. The histrionic mental disorder is asickness in the patient’s personality that affects his relationships. The HPD (Histrionic Personality Disorder) can be considered as the principal cause of shocking in social relations. This effect isreflected in the behavior of the patient and also to his partner. This research is focus on the description of the histrionic personality disorder and the effects in the dynamic relationships; when thepatient suffers this personality disorder.

First, the Histrionic Personality Disorder is a sickness that includes certain group of symptoms. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of MentalDisorders (DSM) published by the American Psychiatric Association, the HPD has been classify by the tendency to be overly dramatic and often seem almost as acting, which is why the term histrionicmeans theatrical in manner is use. (Barlow, 2005). Using this classification, we can infer that people with histrionic personality are inclined to express their emotions in an exaggerate fashion. Forexample, hugging a partner they have just met or crying uncontrollably during a sad movie. Another important characteristic that describes the histrionic personality is been self-centered (Barlow,2005). It guide to consider it as the principal cause of conflict in a relationship, because the person that suffers HPD is concentrate in his own necessities taking out the interest of his partner....
