Important Information
Avid recommends that you read all the information in this ReadMe file
thoroughly before using any new software version.

Avid Free DV is a limited experience of the Avid editing
environment and does not encompass all of the powerful features
and valuable editing functionality of Avid's professional video
editing products. Avid Free DVincludes basic video and audio
editing capabilities, up to two streams of real-time effects, and
support for both Windows® XP and Macintosh® OS X platforms.

Projects and bins created with Avid Free DV software cannot
be opened or edited with Avid Xpress DV (or anyother Avid
systems) and vice versa. Avid Free DV is simply a free
opportunity to experience the Avid editing interface.

Avid Free DV only supports a single user login. If you
attempt to run as a different user you may get error messages,
or have to force quit the application. If you need to run the
application as a different user, uninstall the application from
the original login andreinstall as the new user. If this is your
first time editing with an Avid product, you may need help
familiarizing yourself with the user interface and toolset.
Avid Free DV Tutorials are available to help you get started.

many flash modules available.

Documentation Differences
As mentioned above Avid does not assume anytechnical or
customer support responsibilities for Avid Free DV. The help and
documentation available for Avid Free DV is actually the
Avid Xpress Products online help system. This system includes
many features that are not available with Avid Free DV. These
features have been grayed out or do not appear in the application,
but are available on the Avid Xpress Pro or Avid Xpress DV

Avid Xpress Products Help
The Avid Xpress Products online help system includes a contents
list, search capabilities, and context-sensitive Help. To access the
Help system, from within the Avid Free DV application, select
Avid Free DV Help from the Help menu. To find outabout a

particular window or dialog box, with the cursor on the window,
press F1 (Windows) or the Help key (Macintosh). This will take
you to the online help topic specific to the item you clicked on.
