Politics: Everyone has a blackberry – total communication tools – become 24 hr a day politician – no paper – MPs’ offices provided with 4 blackberries =in the loop all the time – get best information instantly (not caught with their pants down = knowledge is power).
Journalism: Write blog on blackberry on Question time – work over lunch – breaks foremail messages – only stop using Blackberry during key budget meetings.

6. How have Smartphones affected work and workers according to the Carlton University study?
Before Blackberry, theyworked an average 47 hrs a week. Post-Blackberry, they worked just over 70 hrs a week. Work leaks into everything – affects social life – increased levels of stress, burnout, decreased job and lifesatisfaction, marital difficulties.
