READING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES.
SKIMMIMG: a strategy which implies a fast, superficial reading to get the general idea of the text. In this way ofreading we try not to focus on one idea in particular, but rather to understand the author’s main idea. In skimming a reading we generally read titles and subtitles first; we also look for visual aids which can help us decipher the meaning of what is written. Then, we look for important words which give clues to the general idea of the text.
