The shard is the latest big skyscraper in London and the biggest building in Europe. Not too many days ago they opened doorsfor general public and for businesses with different reactions and opinions from the people. Although some people enjoyed being in a building that big and besides of the amazing view, others complaintabout the entrance fee of 29.95 pounds which is about 47 USD.

This daily chart of the Economist analyzes the admission price by height of public viewing platforms, comparing the admission pricewith the height of the viewing platform. In this way The Shard is compared to many other skyscrapers in the world such us the Empire State building in New York or the CN Tower in Toronto, all can beseen in the chart. Clearly by analyzing just the bar chart for The Shard we can see that it is expensive regarding the height of the viewing platform (240m) and comparing them to other platforms. Forinstance, let’s just look at the Shanghai’s SWFC, the viewing platform is 475m above the ground which is 235m higher than the platform of the Shard and the SWFC charges around 5 US cents per meterwhile London’s biggest skyscrapers charges almost 4 times that, which is much more at a lower height. Actually looking at the bar chart, The Shard is the most expensive skyscraper to visit comparing theheight of its viewing platform to the other in the graph. The SWFC in the other hand is the cheapest to visit and also the one where people can be higher. The difference between The Shard and the onethat follows (The Ostankino Tower) is way too much. To visit the Ostankino you pay around 12 US cents per meter and you can still be at almost 340 meters above the ground, 100 meters more than theShard. In general Europe’s biggest skyscraper has the lowest viewing platform of all the skyscrapers analyzed in the graph and is the most expensive of all, so the relationship between the two variables...
