Representation of the resurrection by Grünewald.Easter is the Christian annual commemoration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. It is therefore a period of intense liturgical activity within the various Christiandenominations. Begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday, but their celebration usually starts in several places on the previous Friday (Good Friday) and is considered part of it on Easter Sunday.Easter is preceded by Lent, which ends in Holy Week which is celebrated the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday and Resurrection at the Easter Vigil during thenight of Holy Saturday to Sunday Easter.
During Holy Week occur numerous examples of popular piety throughout the world, including processions and passion plays. The holiday cycle that correspondsto Easter in other countries like USA, is known as "Spring Break"
Paschal Triduum
The most important days of Holy Week are formed by the so-called Easter Triduum: Entering the Triduum (HolyThursday and Good Friday the day), which commemorates the death of Christ, Holy Saturday, which marks Christ in the tomb, and on Easter Sunday of the Resurrection.

It is at the Council of Nicaea I (in the year 325) which finally comes to a solution to this issue. It wasestablished that Easter was to be held in compliance to certain rules:
That Easter be celebrated on Sunday.
Do not ever coincide with the Jewish Passover, celebrated regardless of the dayof the week. (This will avoid confusion between the two parallels or religions).
That Christians never celebrasen Passover twice in the same year. This can be explained because the new year...
