Enjoying your favorite tune means to have good speakers. Subwoofers or “subs”are very popular because they can produce deep and strong bass and can divertnotes that full – range speakers strain to reproduce. The choice to have one and installing yourself implies to choose the appropriate enclosure for your subwoofer. Don´t forget that subwooferscomes in different sizes and power range, so it is recommended to choose them based on your car trunk size and musical taste.

Tools

A lot of car audio fans prefer to install their car subs bythemselves to cut the cost of paying someone to get it installed for them. To mount the subwoofer in an enclosure by yourself, you will need some basic tools such as screws, screwdrivers ( Phillips andFlat Blade), wire cutters and stripper, electrical tape, panel removal, drill and flash light. Mount your component subwoofer to an appropriate enclosure by connecting the leads to the terminal cup, andusing mounting screws.

Connecting

First, strip the insulation of the speaker wires leading from the subwoofer so that about from 1/8 to 1 /4 of an inch of bare wire is visible on its lead.Then, crimp a female quick slide connector onto each wire lead. Finally, Identify the subwoofer lead that is connected to the subwoofer's positive terminal. Then identify the quick slide on the back ofthe terminal cup that is connected to the positive (red) terminal on the front. Slide the female quick slide on this lead onto the male quick slide on the back of the terminal cup. Do exactly thesame procedure for the negative terminal (black).

Unpowered Subwoofer
