How To Work With People From Other Countries
As time goes by we continue to see a difference between the globalperception of Eastern cultures and Western and Northern European cultures. (htt) Today, we may think that for doing business the most common language is English but even though most business do use thislanguage for international negotiations with countries which native tongue is different there still are many more factors that are relevant to culture barriers. Some of the followingare things that we might want to consider in dealing with different cultures at work:
Individualistic or Group Oriented: Some cultures see being strong independent as a symbol of power others seepower as something with more commitment to the group.
For example Western Europe people prefers to work alone and solving problems for them.
Gestures: involves sensitivity and awareness not making anygestures that can be offensive to other person selves, their decisions are based on facts and not in intuition.
Logic: Many European countries such as Germany are very logical in their choice in wordswhereas Italians seem to be vary flowery with their vocabulary which may lead to offensiveness, one of the two cultures not taking things seriously
