In Araby there is a clear example in what we said before, the protagonist of thestory a young man has great feelings for a woman, he waits for her every morning in the front a parlor watching her door, so we could see that he needs her, becausehe fall in love with her. Another support for our idea of necessity appears when he talked to her in the first time, he was murmuring “oh love! Oh love!” many times.Also meanwhile they are talking he offers to give her a present if he would go to Araby.
In ‘village without men’ we could see the same pattern, that women could notlive in the same way without men, because since the beginning of the times, men and women were created to be together and form a family or make a relationships. Itis something that society imposes, like the stigmatization of roles, which men should work to provide the food to his family and the women to stay in the house totaking care the children and prepare the food to their husbands.
To conclude we can say that no matter where in the world, in what era people lived women and men werecreated to be together to share a life, experiences and love, so they always are going to be part of the history, fulfilling the roles that had been stipulated per each.
