I decided to talk about Humanism because is the orientation to learning and teaching I agree the most. Humanism is all about self-actualization; If you really put your bestin learning something, you will learn it.
Abraham Maslow, known as “the father of humanism” is the main learning theorist of this branch of the psychology. He was born inapril 1st, 1908. He already had 2 children in 1941, when he was recluted for the 2nd World War. All this horrors he saw and lived inspired a vision of peace in him, and this ledhim to his masterwork; Humanism and his studies of self-actualizing people.
This studies were trying to prove that every person has a desire to realize his full potential,and reach his max level in something. He based this theory contradicting the situationalism, explaining that humans were not just reacting to situations, but trying to reachtheir goals.
He is also known for his hierarchy of needs pyramid. He used it to explain in a simply and understandable way the importance of the different kind of needs aperson has, an the order the are supposed to be fulfilled so a person can reach self-actualization.

Landing this theory on learning, a students will not learn or put theirbest if they´re missing their basic needs. A student that is hungry, is no sleeping well or simply wants to go to the bathroom is not going to put attention or even care of theclass. Talking about safety, if the student is having problems at home, or is being bullied at school is not going to learn as well as others.
As teachers, we can solve thisjust paying a bit of attention on the class too. If a student gets distracted easily or is not doing well on class he/she maybe needs some help. I decided to talk about
